Spokane City/County Explorer Search and Rescue

Explorer Search and Rescue (ESAR)is a volunteer team whose mission is to provide a free-of-charge, trained and certified SAR Team anywhere in the State of Washington at anytime.

Our team is made up of Explorer 15 to 20 years old and adult Advisors. We are a registered Explorer Post with the Boy Scouts of America and an Organizational member of Washington Explorer Search and Rescue (WESAR). We formed our team in 1970 and have participated in SAR missions and other incidents in Spokane County and throughout the State. In addition, we have participated in many public events and training sessions.

Search and Rescue is a highly technical field that requires a lot of expensive gear and training. As our unit grows and more agencies are finding out about us, our need for sponsorship funds and equipment has also grown. The membership has worked hard to earn funds to purchase equipment, pay for training courses and certification testing. To date our objectives have been paid for by the people of this organization. Simply put, there are times when our youth cannot meet the financial obligations for the quality of gear needed for our missions or their personal safety. We are asking for help in our fund raising efforts so that we may continue to meet our mission objectives and support our youth members.

We believe that our mission is worthy not only to the citizens of Spokane County and Washington State, but also to our members that prove, today’s youth can and do have a positive impact on our communities.

We would like to thank you in advance for your consideration in this worthy cause to our youth and community.

If you or your organization is able to provide assistance in our efforts, we maybe contacted in one of the following way:

 (509) 755 ESAR

Sincerely,

The membership of Explorer Post 10-4
